AE Graphics has successfully delivered a complex, multifaceted, augmented reality studio for SuperSport’s presentation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In the custom built studio in Johannesburg a range of innovative tools has been introduced to help SuperSport’s production team tell the story of the tournament, including, for the first time in AE’s history, a scrolling information studio ticker. An array of augmented reality graphics including stadiums, group tables and maps, are also being delivered across multiple cameras using Stype and RedSpy tracking systems.

For extra wow-factor, AE has designed a touchscreen system that can also be used by presenters to drive AR graphics via a tablet device. The analysis tool, Telestrator, has also been integrated into the touchscreen system, helping pundits add an extra layer of in-depth analysis to their pre and post-match opinions.

Finally, AE is also providing multi-language graphics in both English and Portuguese, including full integration with the official FIFA data feed for live match and player statistics.
